This is the hardcover version of the book. This book covers the artwork on the first 18 manga volumes and the 1st season of the anime series. It reads from back to front, like the Japanese original. The first section covers the process of converting the manga into anime & compares the artwork of each on facing pages while describing the decisions and techniques the animators used to translate the static manga panels to motion. That is followed by sections containing the color art as originally published in Shonen Sunday. Most of the manga was black & white, but there were special color sections periodically which did not get reproduced in the all-monochrome manga reprints. There are comments & notes about the various characters throughout these sections. Remaining sections reproduce the color covers of the original comics releases & gives character studies, storyboard samples & descriptions of the 1st year opening & closing sequences. Finally, there are articles on the anime recording sessions, interviews with the Japanese voice actors, & Ms. Takahashi herself. There are also line sketches of all the main characters & size comparisons, plans of the shrines & even Kagome's house. Everything is reproduced on heavy weight glossy paper & is about 8.5" x 11" in size. All in all, it is a handsome and informative book for InuYasha fans everywhere.Read full review
