The Uniden FP1200 Corded Telephone has a number of useful features, including a clear-to-read backlit ice blue LCD display, caller ID, speakerphone, and a real-time clock. It has an internal phone book capable of recording up to 70 contacts and an extra loud handset volume control to ensure its ring can always be heard. It has message waiting and new call visual indicators as well as on-hook dialling.

I'm sticking with Uniden
I've had two previous telephones of the same make and model blown up by lightning and always replaced them with the same, as I like the features. The answering machine is essential for those of us who do not sit by the telephone 24/7 and being corded, the telephone part (but not the answering part) still works during blackouts, too frequent in rural FNQ. The only improvement would be a battery to keep the time set.

The person at the recieving end of the call gets a nice clear signal but at my end i get loads of crackling when i speak. I have to move the phone about 8 inches away from my mouth to avoid the crackling/distortion. Other than that I like it but I cant put up with speaking like that. I wont ever buy another Uniden. This is the second one ive had. I'm going to ditch this one and get another brand

Quality and ease of set up.
This phone is very easy to use, storing contacts for instance. I always go for quality and Uniden has proven itself to me for wall or desk phone and also my cordless for my bedroom.
