One of the best CPU's I've used and I've tried literally dozens. The two extra cores allow all kinds of opportunities for speed that a typical 4 core processor can't reach. I build high end computers for a living, and this one sits right next to an i7 7700K machine, while 30 feet away in the workshop I run an i7 6850K and i7 5820K... I know of what I speak. This is the best of the bunch overall. Don't get taken in by clock speed...that's single core performance, and I've got this reliably over-clocked at 4.4Ghz on water right now, and had it all the way up to 4.6 before temps started to get uncomfortable for me. I run about 33 C at idle, rise to about 41 C while running intense 4k video processing and still stay under 50 C with the most demanding new games at 4.4 Ghz. It comps higher than the 7800K, and it's Passmark scores were higher than almost anything else that isn't specialized for single purpose applications. For the price I paid I haven't been able to beat it. It even puts my 6930K spec. build to shame!Read full review

I bought this processor for a great price online BNIB and it was too good to pass up. It is super easy to install and very fast and responsive. I haven't overclocked my processor and don't see a need to do so. I ran several benchmarks and stress tests and it outperforms many competitors in the ballpark and even some that have higher specs. I couldn't be more grateful for purchasing this CPU and I would definitely recommend it for others. The only caveat I can think of with this processor is that it only has 28 PCI Express Lanes. In motherboards that support the U.2 connector for SSD's, the requirement is a 40 PCIe lane CPU to function. Outside of this, AMAZING processor!!!!

I've been using Intel CPU's ever since I began building my own pc's going all the way back to 1997. I give a 100% positive rating in performance and any thing else related. You can't go wrong purchasing an Intel CPU. You really might just as well choose Intel for your CPU seeing their products are in every mother board on the market. Software manufacturers, hardware manufacturers all design their products around Intel products. If your looking to minimize or completely eradicate potential compatibility issues within your new build, then my humble advice is to choose INTEL ! ! !

Doesn't overclock high relative to today's standards but is a great upgrade for anyone using this socket with a Haswell E CPU.

Great processor !! I do not overclock yet, this is my 2nd 6800k !! Very stable and my plan is to install in my 1st liquid cooled setup - which I look forward to !!
