This replaced a plastic juice extractor that cracked and failed after only a few months of use. This glass unit is much more robust, but the extractor has relatively smooth surfaces that come into contact with the fruit, which means that they are less effective than if they were less rounded edges. The jug does not pour very well

The glass dome on the juice extractor is so small in diameter that it's really only suitable for squeezing limes with. I put a cheap two dollar K-mart stainless steel one over the top of the glass jug and through their glass top to the ____ ______! Now it's a good little happy chappy.

Unfortunately this only works for small citrus and limes. You also have to squeeze slowly or you lose the juice down the sides. It is a cute jug however so I'm keeping it for now but am on the hunt for a better all purpose juicer.
