The trap was set as per manual. On first attempt the cat was trapped inside and managed to escape after a few seconds. The rod that keeps the slant door shut was forced out of the retainer. There is a design fault so this trap is a waste of money. The release door is more secure because it's got two hooks as retainers. The slanted door has a bad design retainer. If the cat jumps inside can lift and bend the top of the cage enough to pop out the retained rod and release the slanted door. I won't be able to catch that nasty cat again. See pictures. See how the trap failed because design fault.

Well I thought a quoll was killing my chickens. The trap arrived in the afternoon. I set it up in 2 minutes. Went to the chook house in the morning and found that I had caught a large cat. So I had roast cat for dinner that night.

Not constructed well. Not able to use as mechanism is too sensitive. Tried to adjust but very poor quality. Should have spent the extra $20 on something sturdier
