Great size with plenty of torque. I particularly like the feature where the hammer, drill and screw modes are on a separate dial to the torque settings. It is nicely balanced with battery inserted. It has a nice quality feel about. So far I have been very impressed with it.

Makita tools are always good quality....I have 30 yrs experience servicing and using them. This drill is compact despite having power to spare. It's a little heavy, due to the alloy gearbox housing, but not as heavy as the 481. I have pushed it hard drilling through timber with a 50mm hole saw in high gear...it didn't heat up. It is miles ahead of cheap brushed-motor drills.
