Dipel works very well in killing white butterfly caterpillars that eat the leaves of cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, kale and other members of that plant family. It lasts a long time if sprayed on the underside of leaves to avoid rainwater wash off. As a powder, it is not as easy to measure out as a liquid. The rate is 1 gram to 1 litre of water. 1 gram is 1 fifth of a teaspoon. I use a plastic measuring device that can measure a quarter of a teaspoon, which is near enough. In my experience the product lasts well beyond the expiry date if kept in a cool dark place - and I mean years longer. So, buy a new packet when the old insecticide no longer works.

This seems to get rid of the insects that are attacking my grapevine but seeing the growing season is almost over it may be too early to tell just how effective it is.

Very effective. Directions for mixing could be better for small gardens.
