Very good combination stone. Much better value than the cheaper alternatives (I’ve tried many over the years). It’s a good size and cuts quickly. Out of the box on mine the 1000 grit side was perfectly flat, the 6000 side was not, but it was quick and easy to flatten on a Norton flattening stone. Sharpens blades very quickly, but is soft and needs regular flattening to keep it in order (use either a flattening stone or sandpaper on a flat surface like thick glass to level it out). I’d definitely recommend this king stone.

The stone is actually two different grades mounted back-to-back. Comes with a raised block to hold it securely. Make sure you soak it in water for 15 mins before using. Do your homework on sharpening techniques before using. A great all-purpose stone.

I bought it for my lino tools—which I haven't needed to sharpen as yet. I look forward to using the whetstone when I do. I like the fact that this whetstone has two different surfaces and is compact enough to travel with. Delivery was fast and efficient!

This is not a large stone. If it had been it would be worthy of five stars. Never the less it is exactly what is needed to give a good edge to your knives. If well soaked in water before hand it produces a good slurry paste to hasten the sharpening process. The 400 grit prepared my worn knives to then be sharpened with the 1000 grit.

Very happy with this whetstone. Just 1000 gets my knives very sharp. Everyone who uses the knives comments how sharp they are and safer to use.
