Being an older game, the graphics are OK, the gameplay is slow, cheesy, and really not very exciting. It is, however entertaining. I bought it to enter the world of RPG play. It has worked well for that.

The graphics are good, but don't expect well thought out gameplay. The game feels more rote even though it's a open world. There's a sparkling line that tells you where to go. No more side quests or exploring! I highly recommend Fable 1 not 3. I guess it was OK, but they could have done so much better.

I received this game as a gift for Christmas and I found I was attached to it for 4 days straight. I had to pry myself away from it to get my work done, and continually have to fight the urge to play it. The game is a great sequel to Fable and Fable II. Although there are some things I would change if I could, it definitely is entertaining and fun to play. As a Fable fan, I was able to pick up on most things quickly, though I expect new players may have some difficulty in understanding the story line and such. Glitches! There are always glitches and Fable II had lots, most of which were graphic-related and hilarious to watch. Fable III so far has mostly had functionality glitches, with some kind of annoying graphical ones... I've found that sometimes the golden trail to follow doesn't always go anywhere. It may also make loops through the air or along the side of staircases and such. Oh a word of warning... if you're not careful you can screw up your game big time. Do some research beforehand! If you're going to play a good character you need to amass millions in gold coins... when I say millions I mean like 10 million. It sounds like a lot but the game provides lots of ways to make money and if you buy all the properties you can (stores and houses) you'll find you'll be making a lot of money despite the cost of repairs to keep the houses usable. Your money can quickly build up if you leave your character running in circles overnight using a rubberband and a wired controller and a confined area for your character to run in (this only works if you own stores and rent houses!). Unlike Fable II, your money will only build while you play - thus the simple, yet effective cheat stated above. FYI - I think it takes about 6 to 8 hours for a house to depreciate from 100% condition to about 3%, so repair the houses prior to doing the cheat. Anyway, it's a great game, not perfect, but certainly entertaining like its predecessors.Read full review
I was very skeptical about this game because the Fable II was such an enormous let down for me. I was in love with the first game and had great expectations in place for its immediate sequel. That was not a mistake I was going to make twice. With Fable III I was pleasantly surprised - amazed even! The things that were lacking in the previous game are all golden here. Namely, the story! The story of a young prince becoming a hero to overthrow the tyrant king is a well paced and endearing one. However, that is only the first half of the game. Once you become the ruler of Albion the fate of your kingdom is in more jeopardy than you originally knew. Now you have to make important decisions that will decide how many of your people will survive the impending doom, but your decisions may also require you to follow in the footsteps of the former tyrant instead of becoming the benevolent hero king you promised to be. It all plays out beautifully from start to finish and I was honestly immersed in this game and its tale far more than I have been with any game in a long time. The options for clothing and dyes are far greater than the last game and there are actually some cool armors you can obtain. The weapons and their customizable qualities are awesome. The magic in this game is terrific as you have a list of spells that are tied to gauntlets that you wear and you can mix and match them for interesting magic combos called "weaves". All in all the combat is not much of an improvement over the last game if at all, but its still fun and there are still PLENTY of hollow men, hobbes, and balverines to rip through on your way to glory. If you want to play a Fable where you TRULY feel like the hero you're supposed to be then this is the one! Fable III is an absolute blast!Read full review
I give it a 9.2 out of 10 - some cool mixed elements!! IT'S LIKE SIMS VS GOD OF WAR IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE lol the game is a ltl glitchy and graphics could of been improved but none the less the game is huge and there is sooooooooo much to do.. Short review. Very entertaining game, with a fair amount of replayability. Easy to get caught up playing this game for hours on end. Experience is based on earning guild seals in this game. The concept is good, and generally works well, however it is tedious to earn enough to unlock all abilities. I found that it was a pain to interact with nearly every villager in the game just to be able to unlock every ability. The combat system is fun at first, but many times when you perform a flourish attack during a fight, it sends the camera into a locked view and goes into slow motion. This is very cool the first few times, but when you're in a big fight and surrounded by bad guys, you just want the thing to stop doing it. It's annoying, and you can't see what you're doing. It makes it hard to transition into your next attack. I found this to be the most annoying aspect of the game. All in all, the game is fun and a good pick up for fans of the series. If you're not already a fan of the Fable series, I would be hesitant to recommend it to you due to the combat problem alone.Read full review
This was my first experience playing a Fable game. I purchased this at gamestop for $59.99 so of course I expected it to be a game that would flabberghast me beyond all dimensions. BUT! It did'nt. So heres the thing with this game. ITS JUST SO EAAASSSSYYY TO PLAAY. You can get through the whole game without dying once (you actually need to do that to get an acheivment)! I like a game that fustrates me. I dont want to feel like i'm playing a Dynasty Warriors game, where im simply mashing buttons requiring no thought whatsoever and always end up winning, not that button mashing or Dynasty Warriors isn't fun. But okay, I didn't give this game 3 stars simply because it wasn't challenging. It was because by the end of the game, I hardly cared for any of the characters. No Meaningful Character Developement. And once your done with the game, there isn't much you can do really. Do all the other quests? Power yourself up? For what? Nothing. ALTHOUGH I DO ADMIT that the weight that the game puts on you when you making a decision is realistic. I LOVED that aspect of the game, the only aspect in which I do not dislike, and the only aspect in which Fable is most infamous for. Everything you do impacts your results. But thats the only thing I liked. The story was not exceptional and in conclusion, paying $60 for this game was simply NOT WORTH IT. Pros: Realistic intensity when making decisions; affects outcome of game. (I was blown away with this factor) Cons: Okay story, Annoying Noises People Make when Interacting with them, Bad Character Development, Too Easy, Paid too much for this game ($60 NOT WORTH IT), Can't do much once finished (and you can finish this game very, very quickly.)Read full review
Its a good game for sure. while maintaining its 1 player RPG ability but has a very cool multi player co op play which leads for more interesting game play. the graphics are out of this world which allows you to move through city to city in great fluid motion. The game allows you to make choices of good and evil which will alter the ending of the game so you can play it over and over again and still be suprised. The game allows you to get married have kids. ( THIS GAME IS NOT FOR CHILDREN )the game allows you to have sex even gives you the option to use condoms or not. and you can catch std's so i dont believe this is a childrens games by any means.
This game as an adventure game is fantastic. It has everything you would expect from a AAA title. Here is the downfall of what could of made it game of the year. When Fable launched on the original xbox it was an RPG adventure game with menu systems built as if it was so. But now in the third installment they have stripped out every aspect of making this game an RPG. There is no menu system built to look at upgrading anything....... its as if they made the game for the Kinect then bailed out at last minute. All the menus are built like the Kinect game menus. What I mean is that when you interact with people now, you hold the button just long enough for it to circle around the icon. All of the fighting is quite the same and the towns are much like the last but when it comes down to feeling like a hardcore game, it much rather feels like "Fable Legos!"Read full review

The graphics are an improvement from the "fuzzy" style graphics from Fable 2. The story is also an improvement since the main character can now talk. The story also has cut scenes which gets you more involved to the story. The game is tedious and slow at the first half. Yet the game makes an improvement at the second half when you become King of Albion. The game is fairly good, but there are some negative points that hurts the game's potential as a great RPG. For starters, there are way too many resemblances to Fable 2. That isn't a bad thing except for the fact that many of the things you witness in Fable 3 will be cliches that you felt like you've seen before. There aren't many changes in Fable 3 and that is a problem since I had high expectations on this game. The other major problem is that the game doesn't last long (just like Fable 2) and that I didn't want to continue playing after I beat it. Instead I made a new hero and played through the tedious story again. The problem is that the ending wasn't strong enough. I recommend you buy this game if you're looking for a good week.Read full review
