The photo of this product doesn't show clearly that the centre circle is mesh. I was expecting a solid metal with vent holes. The mesh isn't super effective at preventing fat spatter and mine had a stain on the mesh after first use which I can't wash off. Given that fat still spatters, you might as well just clean your stove top and backsplash after frying without the added work of also having to wash a spatter guard.
