Outdoor unit on old station required too much maintenance. This Devanti outdoor unit was simply powered up and positioned onto existing mounting, and worked first time. Connection to WU (using existing console) never missed a beat .. This is a good replacement outdoor unit for some of the earlier (various brands) units out there.. Actually replaced an erratic XC-0422 unit as they appear identical in shape, mounting & configuration.. There is a problem with connecting new console to WIFI, seems to take one to the wrong IP address all the time. May try it again later down the track.. Devanti Console is not required at this point in time.

The unit display is not very good it has to be plugged in to power for it to be lit up all the time. Also it is hard to read, you have to be looking down on the display to see it clearly. I would not recommend this weather station, in fact I am sorry I ever bought it.

I've had this unit since Xmas 2017, and it is still performing as it should. I use it mobile, putting it up and down on a caravan, and yes, it does take batteries, and yes, the light does go out, to save power. Not many 'toys' run without batteries! The information is excellent and the display looks great. Well constructed, pretty accurate, and good quality. It's just a shame that the price has gone up, so, so much. $149.95 in December 2017.

This is a very good weather station and I am very happy with it. I would have given it 5 stars if the solar sensor had been on the north side of the unit. It is obviously designed for the northern hemisphere. It will be interesting to see how long the batteries last without the best solar assistance.

Overall this unit is excellent in detail & operation. One problem is with the external temperature sensor which appears to report higher temperatures than actual in the morning & evening when sunlight is directly falling on the sensor housing. I have checked it against a mercury thermometer mounted in shade & get readings up to 2.5 degrees higher on the weather station. During the middle of the day the sensor is shielded by the units housing.
