The description makes it sound like a sturdy metal pipe that emits sound waves through the ground ... It isn't and doesn't. Plastic spike tube that you need to creat a hole in the ground in advance so it will fit down. Once active it emits an audible "buzzing" noise that some had thought was an alarm of some type - clearly not ultrasonic and quite annoying to hear going off every 20 seconds or so.
