Starting out painting minis (Warhammer 40k, D&D Nolzur's, Battletech) and went with Army Painter starter set. Switched over to Vallejo Model Color and these colors straight dunk on Army Painter, especially for lighter colors. The pigment density, opacity, flow, and coverage are superior to Army Painter in every way, except for the metallics. This set comes with silver, while Army Painter comes with 'Plate Mail', which is far more useful, in my opinion. The gold that comes with this set is also difficult to work with/has poor coverage and pigment density. Otherwise, this is the perfect starter set for me.

I'm 60, we had testors enamel, and thick glue when I last built models. Don't know how long these sets have been around, recently returned to modeling. They are awesome. The product support is crazy. referring to the many, many, paint sets available. My old skills had advanced solely due to better products to use.

Wasn’t sure if I was going to get these by Christmas but to my surprise I did. My partner has been extremely happy with the paints so far.
