I have been using these Eneloop rechargeable batteries for over a decade, and the old ones are mostly still in use. So far as I can tell, over 95% of my 10+ year old batteries are still usable. Do they have a down-side? yes: they are small, and occasionally get lost, usually when I lose whatever gadget they happen to be powering. How dreadful!

Being genuine Eneloop batteries makes a huge difference than the cheap copies that are getingt around.
