If I could give this 0 stars I would, pump works fine and maybe, just maybe you would use it in a blackout!!!!! Otherwise don't bother, spend your money elsewhere as this will eventually cause you to go deaf, it is that loud that you cannot stay in the same room as it, after this disappointment I went out and brought a plug in whisper quiet pump, not only can you stay in the same room as it, but you could sleep with it on if you so wished, it is really quiet and I can totally recommend the whisper quiet series, I got the 60 small size one up to a 60L tank. If you do want a battery powered one buy this at your peril, as I suggest you purchase ear muffs as well !!!!
