I like how compact the scanner is. I like how itys not necessary to use my computer for it to function. The speed to scan my boxes full of photos was fantastic. ( next job- photo albums!) What seemed a huge task has been so easy and quick that its really enabled me to get organised so much sooner. I've increased my storage space enormously. I do have some film i'm eager to see whats on them too! I've also used the scanner for small dockets to save for business purposes.

It’s a camera inside a box. Yes, the picture is 14mp but it’s a 14mp photo of a photo or a slide, so expectations shouldn’t be too high. Internal memory is enough to scan about 45 photos, after which you switch it over to USB mode and copy them to the computer. The instructions are not very useful, but it’s a simple device so it’s not hard to figure out. One big design flaw is that the top clear cover is Perspex rather than glass, so as you wipe off the dust, it gets a static charge which attracts even more dust. By default, the light is too bright, but you can reduce it to improve picture quality and reduce reflection from dust on the Perspex.

Not suitable for scanning photos. Even at highest setting the resolution is dreadful (better off just taking photos of photos with your phone). Also the glass plate at the top is warped & the velvet along top of mirror is jagged (assume neither is meant to be?) so allows light to bleed into the image as a jagged white line through every saved image. VERY disappointed:(
