This is a good part to get for your TT01 or TT01 chassis. The plastic ones are OK for a stock motor, but if you plan to go brushless or put a beefed up brushed motor in your vehicle, the plastic drive shaft will tend to twist and become unbalanced causing it to slap around in the chassis. This aluminum part won't do that. It's a good, cheap upgrade for your Tamiya. Happy building!

This aluminum drive shaft kit for the Tamiya TT01e replaces the stock plastic driveshaft with a high quality aluminum unit. While not necessarily needed or wanted with stock power, as it weighs more, it becomes a necessity once you have brushless power on a 3s LiPo battery or larger. The stock plastic driveshaft can flex and even smack the chassis under load, and you can even hear that sometimes under acceleration. This kit replaces the stock plastic piece with much stronger aluminum and reduces/eliminates that flexing which alleviates the issue. If you're planning more power for your TT01e, I highly recommend this affordable upgrade.

The stock propellor shaft flexes under load which causes power loss. You can even have a catastrophic failure due to that if you use a more powerful motor. Tamiya Hop Ups are well worth the money. It's a hobby so if you are getting into RC, you will see how much money you can invest in it.
