Good quality gun blue that achieves the makers claims
Like all Birchwood Casey products that I have used, this Presto Gun Blue works as advertised, it gives a light grey to bluish color to the metal. I used it on some 1084 high carbon knife blades for rust prevention and achieved the result I desired after one application. On firearm parts, you would probably need multiple applications, with a light polish with fine steel wool between coats, to match the existing shade of blue. Overall I would give it a big thumbs up for ease of use and quality of finish.

Easy to use with clear instructions.
I am using this product to rust proof some small lathe tool holders I made. The instructions are easy to follow and the resulting finish is as expected. I might try using wider swabs so as cover a larger area with each swipe.
