No brightness at all, don't buy it if you want it as a night light. Bought this and a rainbow lava lamp at the same time, the rainbow one works great, the gold one is going in the bin. The fluid is also not clear and a little disgusting to look at, where the rainbow one is clear liquid and love it. All the brightness in the attached pic is coming off the rainbow lava lamp.
