Do yourself and the environment a favour and purchase a quality one.
I've not used one before so I can't compare. I can say that the potato doesn't go the whole way through. The end gets stuck and you have to individually pick out the excess around the blade. It takes a good amount of pushing to get the potato through. And the whole thing is pretty rickety. Glad I purchased on sale. Wouldn't buy again. Would spend more on a better version as the chips that did come through were great! Quick to slice and cooks well as all even pieces. So basically great idea. This one however a waste of money and not great for environmental as what else can you do except throw it away.

Broken on first use , followed instructions to the letter .
Purchased , it arrived, exciting kids running all around the house, washed, instructions read. First potatoe and the French fry cutter broke . Now have a house full of crying kids. I imagine it was possible that the operator made a mistake being the first use

Blade housing is no good
Smooth operation, sharp blades, good compression ratio The blade housing is terrible. The clip to hold the blade down doesn’t stay engaged resulting in the blade popping up and cutting part of the base off. The action also bends the blades
