I've not used one before so I can't compare. I can say that the potato doesn't go the whole way through. The end gets stuck and you have to individually pick out the excess around the blade. It takes a good amount of pushing to get the potato through. And the whole thing is pretty rickety. Glad I purchased on sale. Wouldn't buy again. Would spend more on a better version as the chips that did come through were great! Quick to slice and cooks well as all even pieces. So basically great idea. This one however a waste of money and not great for environmental as what else can you do except throw it away.
