MX500 is an older drive model, but still works great and is still fast with an excellent value to performance ratio. If you want a cheap upgrade for gaming or storage the MX500 is a good choice. This is especially true for older laptops with an HDD.

The hdd on my laptop was giving trouble. Repeatedly reporting errors . Fixed all errors then used the Acronic Disk clone software that is free to download with this ssd to clone my hdd to the ssd. The connectors fit perfectly and, using a SATA USB connector when cloned with Acronis it was a simple matter of unplugging the mechanical hard drive and plugging this unit onto the existing plugs.
