I bought this unit as a second UPS to supplement the larger Cyberpower unit I've had for years (and the battery is starting to go on that one). This unit (while it doesn't have as many outlets or options as it's larger brother) is quite compact and laid out well. All of the connections are on the back and out of the way (except the USB connector on the front). So you can store this away and hide cords easily behind it. Its easy to setup - just plug it in and let it charge up full initially before using. There's three power outlets on the back of the unit to plug devices into. The power button is located on the front panel and indicator lights alerting you to the units functions. There's only the basics with this unit (Charging/Low Battery/Overload) and doesn't have all of the fancy displays as other units have. But this is really all you need. You can also use this unit (with the USB attachment) to notify your device to shutdown. There's also a built in Eco-mode which turns off charging to make it more efficient. The capacity is 850VA (peak) and 425W which generally means it will run for a little while so you have time to shut things down correctly (like servers/PC etc). Its capacity is not really enough to run for hours on end but it really depends on what you're running off of it. If it's high powered equipment, then maybe 5-10min max. If it's a laptop you might get hours out of it. I mainly use these because living in a rural area the power flicks on and off regularly (which tends to turn off routers and broadband services which can take 5min or so to reboot). Although it specifies that the battery is not replaceable, it's just a normal deep cycle battery (which you can buy pretty much anywhere). Just make sure you buy one with the same dimensions. You can buy these types of battery from Cyberpower themselves, although they are on the pricey side to buying them local (or even off ebay for that matter).
