18mm thick U-bar, everything seems well build and made from Stainless Steel. The alarm is nice and loud, but there seems to be a design flaw, for me when installing the battery. You pull out a plastic box which has the alarm housed in it, and install the battery from the other side by removing the waterproof cover. Once you place the battery inside the alarm and put the Waterproof cover back on, it won't fit back inside the lock. You either have to remove the battery or remove the waterproof cover to fit the plastic alarm box back inside the U Lock. Leaving it prone to water attacks. it's a CR2 lithium-ion battery which you can replace, which is great, but it a shame that it has this flaw (showed in pictures)
