I was a bit reluctant to move to this internal hard drive for my MacBook Pro as my previous Hitachi TravelMate 1TB had been such a reliable performer. But I needed the space for running multiple Operating Systems. The Seagate has proved to be fast and reliable and does not seem to have increased my laptop power consumption. I think it runs slightly faster than the TravelMate but I have not run any specific tests. Obviously a SSD would perform better, particularly for power use, but SSD's are still struggling to get massive drives into machines for budget dollars, so I think I made the correct choice.
