Recorded at Egg Studios, Bad Animals/Studio Litho, Seattle, Washington between January 1996 and Fall 1997; the Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, Australia; Virgin Megastore, New York, New York. Following hot on the heels of The Presidents Of The United States Of America's break-up comes PURE FROSTING, a collection of rarities and previously unreleased material. Arriving shortly after the blowup of grunge in the early '90s, TPOTUSA distanced themselves from their gloomier brethren by recording pop nuggets that were more goofy than grim. This point gets driven home by the skewed cross-section of subject matter covered on this farewell. White trash culture is given its due ("Mobile Home"), the Brady Bunch are memorialized in song ("Tiki Lounge God") and country music is given a whirl with the appropriate amount of twang and strum ("Tremolo Blooz.") Along the way, the Presidents cash in with a Buggles cover used prominently in The Wedding Singer ("Video Killed The Radio Star") and an Ian Hunter song destined to be the theme for the Drew Carey Show ("Cleveland Rocks.")
