Neil Diamond celebrated 40 years since the release of his 1972 live double album Hot August Night with an Anniversary reissue that boasts four previously unreleased tracks. The album is a recording of a Diamond concert from 24 August 1972, one of ten sold out concerts that he performed that month at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Hot August Night is very much regarded as a defining album for an artist whose career is still going strong.

When I play this cd I am 20 years old again, painfully lonely but fortunately not any more; but it takes me back and i appreciate the technicallities of the music and feel young again.

50 Years On And Still Remarkable
December 2022 marked the 50th anniversary of the release of this album. There's a reason why Hot August Night is one of the biggest selling albums of all time in Australia. Everything about it is perfect. Not only are they great songs, the performance knocks this out of the park. Neil's voice is in fine form, the band don't miss a beat and the audience are loving every minute of it. To paraphrase Molly Meldrum, do yourself a favour and pick this up... you won't be disappointed!

One of the Best in the World
This is a top CD. Hot August night was well know since Neil Diamond played on stage.. There were people in trees as well listening to him. He is a great entertainer and his opening is what l love on this CD. The drums are just terrific. There is no bad with this entertainment CD.

Classic album
One of the all time classics. Upgraded my old tape to CD. Re-mastering questionable but I was burning in a new CD player at the time, so I'm not 100% sure which was the issue. Production didn't seem any better than the original recording but still a must have for a music collection.

If it is not a cult CD, it should be...I had it as an LP and I know they have come back into favour, but I though I'd get a CD of this favourite Neil Diamond music, so it is now easier to listen to more frequently.
