It is served over ice in an oversized balloon glass - the idea being that the shape enables the drinker to enjoy all the lovely aromas their drink gives off. Gin Tonica Starter
As someone who is wanting to branch out from the simple, yet classic G&T with a slice of lime, I have found this book helpful. The author offers particular gins (and substitutes) to pair with each drink and garnish. So it is useful to have a range of gins on hand, or be willing to grow your home bar. The image styling is beautiful. Nice compact size.
