Prior to purchasing this lens I did considerable research including reading other user comments and reading the more formal reviews from various publishers and independent(?) reviewing organisations. It can be difficult most times to determine which are unfairly biased or favourable or whether they have vested interests in their reviews I purchased the lens with high expectations and fortunately I have not been disappointed. The positives are: The lens is very, very sharp and has a very nice bokeh. The lens can be used as either an excellent macro lens and portrait lens. I have used the lens albeit in testing its capability in both modes and am extremely happy with the results. It is easy to use and the push/pull - auto/manual function is great and makes using it even easier. The price of the lens is reasonable but you get what you pay for and more. As a user of legacy lenses on my Sony A7ii, I have a feeling that this lens will be sought after in the future.Read full review

Produces very clear photos - very flexible for portraits and close up macro shots. Easy to use and matches perfectly with E mount A7Riii camera. Supplier was prompt in arranging for another store to supply. Able to focus at very close distance for macro shots.
