It's quite compact and easy to fit on a desk with limited free space. Ideally a slightly longer cord would be better as I use it on a sit-stand desk but it is usable as I've put the desk next to a power point. So many devices use USB charging these days so USB connections are almost a necessity. The individual switches are a nice touch on something at this price point and the surge protection is also a good feature.
