The REDARC Battery Charger 12V 25A 3 Stage Auto BCDC1225D is designed to go under the bonnet of the car and sit close to the battery being charged. Made to withstand the heat, water and dust in the Australian bush. I have teamed it up with an ARB battery platform that has a cradle built in for the REDARC. The 1225D is well designed, looks good and is the easiest, in vehicle, smart charger I have come across. I fixed it into the inside of a customised battery box and fixed two anderson plugs to the box, one to accept incoming solar, the other to accept incoming from the alternator. Once connected the charger takes over and manages your battery and various inputs & output effortlessly. If there is no alternator input, the solar takes over, no solar the reverse. If dual feeds are detected, it simply uses both (preferencing the solar to improve fuel economy). In my opinion its the only way to set up a dual battery & solar system.

Easy to install (once you find a location in your 4WD). Finally able to charge my AUX battery properly.
