Where most antennas eventually come apart these survive the harsh environments, you see the build quality when unboxing and assembling this antenna and they have quite the performance. Bit of soldering involved in the end of the plug when you buy the whole unit but that allows you to make sure your connections are good and this would be the main part which unscrews off the base. Once you buy one of these you're pretty much set you can go different lengths as they all screw in or if you damage the thing unscrew and screw new one in can't go wrong.
