The build quality is really good and it does make getting your kayak up on the roof of your vehicle easier but trying to get my kayak sitting on the supports is not possible, it's a Sit On Top style kayak (very common) and given the shape of the underside of this kayak it doesn't sit on the supports legs the way the instructions recommend it should. I'm sure my other kayak will be fine (Sit In) as the shape is different. For this sort of money, ideally this system needs to come with different shaped support legs for different shaped kayaks.

After purchasing this for my 4wd, I found i still had to lift my kayak too high (above waist level) to sit on the rack - (i think it would be great for a normal sedan as it would come to mid shin) I used it twice & the foot grip that holds onto the roof rack broke. Not only did I try to purchase a replacement of which I was told they are not a spare part, they would not honour the warranty, so have just wasted $$$ as its now rendered useless.
