The SA 2i is an excellent entry level astrophotography mount. After a few practice runs, the set up was smooth and easy. The Mount is straightforward to use and the accompanying app is effective although a little bit visually clunky. Southern Hemisphere polar alignment was a little tricky for me (a complete beginner) and you'll need to find a tutorial online with clearer instructions than those that are included.

I got this for travelling/camping it is a well constructed mount for the camera. Have successfully taken images of Comet Leonard at Christmas. Like all equatorial mounts in the southern hemisphere, polar alignment is a bit of an issue, but I was taking short (20-30 second) frames so compass and digital angle finder worked just fine. No star trails. The illumination for the reticle is a relatively flimsy plastic extra part that pops into the front of the scope - as other reviews say: it'd be better built in! My only other issue with it is that it is intended for the kind of usage I'm putting it to, so it would be nice if Skywatcher put it in a hard case. Next week I plan on putting the autoguider on it and taking some long-ish exposures on a bright DSO or two just to see what is possible. Overall it is a nice piece of kit - bit of a toss up as to getting this or a small EQ3 type mount, but I'm quite happy with this as an addition to my camera kit.Read full review

Although I have not had much opportunity to use this instrument yet due to the constantly cloudy night sky, I can say that it is simple to operate, does not require a science degree to be able to use it and it enables an average Joe like me to get some nice time lapse clips of the night sky and Milky Way..

Needs tripod included in package rather then purchase separately, Used with D810a and 70-200 zoom and 14-24 zoom lenses . Hard to polar align on a short tripod unless using polemaster method. Once aligned quite good at tracking even @200mm. All in all quite happy with the star adventurer
