I need to be able to do successful eduction duplication of Carbonaria hives. Up until this year, I had not been successful in doing effective eductions. However, my latest effort was successful. And, related to this successful eduction, I wanted to glean the very latest findings/feelings on the success of daughter hives removed from the mother hive. For this reason alone, I bought the Greg Coonan book. The thrust of my requirement related to: would the successful duplication continue long term. (With most of the previous eductions, they started well, but then simply faded away.) Therefore, the sections on hive relocation (p22), and co-location of hives (p23) were highly relevant. Tho, am not sure that some of the points made were entirely valid. It would have been nice to have seen relevant scientific evidence. Related to all of the above, is the matter of swarms. I am sure that swarms, one way or another are directly involved in the eduction process. Whilst the book covered the matter of swarms, I did not find it particularly useful in clearing the fog surrounding the matter. Read full review
