These are what's called "penny sleeves". They are quite thin, which is sometimes what you want, e.g. a big deck of cards doesn't become too high and topple over. My only quibble about these sleeves is that although they are the advertised size, that size is slightly too wide/long for standard 2.5" x 3.5" cards. I've seen penny sleeves that fit much more snugly, which is preferable.
