Best grinder I've used
Bought this to accompany my newly acquired Delonghi Dedica Espresso Machine. It's worth every penny. The grinder is easy to use- only takes a few experiments to get the best grind for my coffee machine. The feature to start/pause the grinder simply by pushing the portafilter is genius.

Excellent at Grinding with a few flaws
Pros: Excellent at grinding with a very wide range of grind sizes, especially with the addition of extra settings in the burr mechanism. The first version of this grinder needed shim washers to manage a fine grind. Cons: MESSY Easily the messiest grinder I have had over the past 15 years. For some reason this latest model spits grinds all over the place as the filter basket (double) fills. (I have had 2 previous BCG 820BSS without this issue). The only way to minimize the problem is to run two single shots (At half the dose of a double) remove the group handle, lightly flatten the grinds, then re-insert and run the 2nd grind - even then it still makes a mess. PAUSE FUNCTION Pause is useless. If you pause mid grind to flatten the coffee to minimize the mess, you have about 2 seconds to do so before the pause period ends. Stupidly it then resets to a full grind time so you have no way of working out how much grind time was left before you paused, which means you have to guess the balance and adjust the time accordingly. Using two single shots for a double filter avoids the pause debacle. Read full review

This is a step up from the most basic grinders that most appliance makers offer, and it's well priced for it. It does what I want: reliably makes espresso-fine grinds, good enough for an espresso machine that costs 10 times more than it does.

Ease of use, simple and straight-forward product
What I like about this product is how it is so easy to use. Just a touch of a button and you will have the perfect grind of coffee. I also like how to bottom part is detachable to clean off ground coffee spills. The display is so straight-forward indicating the time it will take to grind the beans, number of cups and the ground level. Great product plus the fact that this went on sale so 2 thumbs up!

Great grinder with a tidy finish
Very tidy package with a good grind consistency. A lot quieter than my old grinder and the grind timer means I can set the portafilter and let it do it's thing. Having the easily adjustable grind level means I can quickly jump from my espresso to my french in a few turns of the dial. The additional refinement within the burs is a nice touch too.The container it comes with means I can grind some coffee for the day. Still need to play with it more to get a good grasp on this, but a worthy purchase for the casual espresso addict.

Highly recommended.
I am delighted with this grinder, I couldn't get a reading on my espresso machine's gauge with my old one, but it works just fine with this new one. It only takes a short while to work out the grind and time, but then it is all automatic, and delivers the exact amount to my portafilter. I highly recommend it.

This works exactly the way a grinder should: it grinds the beans identically every time, in the same amount, so every cup is consistent in strength and size. Still a little noisy, but much less than my previous conical burr grinder. And SO easy to clean.

Have been using for a month now and have been very pleased with how it performs. Certainly beats trying to grind your coffee manually. Once you experiment with the type of grind you're after, you then need to adjust your grinding time to suit the quantity you need. Save this in the program.
