I ordered this DVD after watching the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Remember Sunday. My husband & I saw this movie in a local theater in our city, Beverly, MA. Cabot Cinema is a treasure. It's a theater built in the 1920's (one screen). We enjoyed this movie very much. After viewing Remember Sunday, I ordered this DVD to view this movie again. Right near the beginning, a walrus vomits all over a Russian handler at the aquarium and then Adam Sandler and the walrus "high five". In a way, it's kinda sad because Drew Barrymore's character has lost her short-term memory, so every day, she has to figure out who these people who are now in her life, after a vehicle accident the year prior to the beginning of this story. Adam Sandler's character devises a video Drew's character can view each morning to reacquaint her with new information. It's really a tender love story - CHICK FLICK! If you haven't seen this movie and need some laughs and some romance, try this title. Try Remember Sunday too - similar story, gender roles reversed.Read full review
50 First Dates is a Romantic Comedy at it's best. Sandler does a very good job in this charming film!! I wasn't that pumped to watch this movie but when I did I really enjoyed it. Sandler and Barrymoore have great on screen chemistry and the movie itself is really well scripted and features a great supporting cast. I'm not a huge Sandler fan but this was one of my favorite Sandler films. Final Verdict: 4/5 Rent or Buy?: Romantic comedy fans and Sandler fans must buy.
Is there any way I could just forget this movie? I'm a fan of Adam Sandler. Am I a huge fan? No. But I do like his humor and I've been a fan of most of his movies. Mostly, I just like it when he flies off the handle and screams. It's funny to me in a very baseless, kindergarten way. But at least I like it. Drew Barrymore on the other hand...well, I haven't liked her in a movie since the last one she did with Sandler. Which might be why they decided to team up again. Sandler (I forget his name in the movie) is a guy that likes to love `em and leave `em. He meets the tourists, bangs them, gives them some hokey lie about who he is - and he's on to the next one. And this seems to be working for him. He's got some weird friends and an odd job as a marine mammal veterinarian (is there such a thing?) - but he seems happy. Hey, he's living in Hawaii. Who wouldn't be happy? But all of that seems to change, strangely, when he meets Drew Barrymore in a coffee shop and endearingly helps her make a waffle hut. They hit it off - sparks fly - and our boy is changed forever. Or so he thinks. When he goes back to the coffee shop the next day to continue where they left off - she doesn't remember him and blows him off. Why? Well, Drew has some sort of mental "condition" where she's lost all short term memory and lives the same day over and over again (Bill Murray would be proud). Sandler, vexed by this woman he is falling for, decides to do his best to get her to notice him all over again and again and again. While the premise has a bit of promise, the comedy is sorely lacking. There are but a few jokes in the whole thing. Sandler and Barrymore's romance is very cookie cutter for a somewhat original premise. And the worst thing is that Sandler's character learns his "womanizing lesson" about a third of the way through the film - which isn't really a good idea - since every movie is a journey of discovery for it's main characters. Once the journey ends - the movie usually does too. But not here. It just keeps going and going. And while you may have hope that Barrymore's clueless character might learn something - she never does. The real stinker here is the ending that is so inexplicable, I nearly laughed out loud - but not in a good way. There are a few bright spots in the movie, however. Rob Schneider is very funny as the perverted, clueless, henpecked surfer with too many kids. Sean Astin also has a nice turn as the roided up idiot brother of Barrymore. Actually, it's just good to see him no longer a fat hobbit. I was starting to ask, "Who ate the kid from The Goonies?" The scenery is beautiful and the soundtrack is nifty, with modern artists covering 80's hits. The DVD boasts commentary from Barrymore and the director, some trailers, deleted scenes with optional commentary, a "making of", some music videos from the soundtrack, a gag reel, a Talkin' Pidgin featurette, and the Comedy Central special. Not bad. Buy it if you just love Sandler or Barrymore. Rent it if your just interested.Read full review

This is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. This one makes me laugh every time I watch it, it never gets old. It takes place in Hawaii, Adam Sandler's character (Henry) meets Drew Barrymore's character (Lucy) at a local diner. He falls for her, but there's one problem. She can't remember him because she has short term memory loss. So every day he tries to make her fall in love with him. The other cast is great as well. Sean Astin (Lord of The Rings) and Rob Schneider (The Hot Chick) are also in this movie. Both are hilarious. If you're a fan of any of these actors you should definitely watch this movie.
Filmed in Hawaii! Beautiful scenery! One of my favorite films. Barrymore and Sandler pair up very well in this light-hearted romantic commedy. Included in the film is some profanity and bizarre character stereo-types such as a transvestite veternarian assistant and a dope-smoking indigenous father of many. Sandler's character implies he has a habit of persuing one night stands with tourists. He meets Barrymore's character (art teacher/head trauma victim with severe memory loss) in a cafe and accidnetally falls for her. Sandler spends most of his time concocting scenarios in an attempt to become ingrained in her memory. Barrymore wakes up every day unaware of anything since the head trauma incident. In the end, the bad-boy gets the good girl and her zany family.
This movie is funny, and romantic.. Next to the wedding singer, this is one of adam Sandler's best.. Absolutely love it! Happy with my purchase.. Thank you...

I loved this Movie for the content and the touching parts of how adam Sandler treated a woman with a handicap. also how much one person does not give up on someone they love and treat them with loving care. All I can say is have a box of tissues ready, for this is a tear Jerker. Almost a Cinderella story. You can watch this again and again and never be tired of it.
I love the DVD in Full Screen than in wide screen.
