As universities in the United States increasingly reshape their programs around the notion of cultural diversity and globalization, administrators and colleagues around the country will embrace that aspect of the book., [I am] favorably impressed by the authorsdesire to update the cultural information, to present current language usage, to re-sequence certain grammatical presentations and to include pronunciation exercises in each chapter., I am most attracted by programs that use the internet effectively to reinforce authentic situations and lead to interactive activities in class. This text does a nice job of this.

Excellent for the beginner!
I bought this book because it was required for my Intro to French class; it is by far the most effective textbook I have used at college. Starts easy and gets progressively more advanced, builds on what you know to teach you more, everything is step-by-step and explained clearly, lots of examples, and a smattering of 'culture' sections so that you learn not only the language but a little about the people and places that use it too.

i think the disk should of come with the book
i decided to buy this book because it was inexpensive. what i dislike about it was that i did not know there was a quia card that come with the book, i had to purchase the quia card separate which cost me $65 to purchase, which was a lot of money had i known about the quia not included i would of purchase somewhere else
