I'm very pleased with the quality of the blade, it holds it's edge well & is easy to sharpen. I use a diamond stone. The blades have a good thick, solid back tapered well to the cutting edge. Both have a good weight & solid feel. The handles feel rubbery & not slippery at all. The fit well in the hand. Overall, they will be a real asset to us when out hunting. I think these are very good value for money. :-)

These knives are typical of Gerber's lower end products. The steel is 5CR15MOV, so they'll lose an edge with hard use. Be sure to take your field sharpening kit with you. The rubberized handles have good grip, but will attract crud in the screw depressions. Actual blade (usable) lengths: Small blade: 2.5 inch (6.5cm) usable blade. The rest is choil. Thickness 1/16" (2mm) Skinner: 3.75 inches (0.5cm) Thickness: 1/8" (3mm) Both knives are full tang with lanyards holes. The sheath is Nylon with hard plastic type inserts and clip locks. I am not sure how long the sheath will last with heavy use as I haven't had this long enough to take into the scrub, but it works okay. The skinning knife clip loop can sometimes get caught under the blade guard, necessitating removing the knife to free the clip so you can lock it in. Both blades come sharp out of the packet, but could do with a stropping before use. Overall, for the price point you can't go wrong. Just don't expect a high end knife at super budget prices.Read full review

as per title this represents great value and is fit for purpose, providing a handy pair of knives with basic but grippy handles and what appear to be good quality full tang blades. The knife holder, which incidentally holds both knives is a basic weaved nylon affair with press stud straps to secure the knives. The smaller drop point knife is small, little bigger than a paring knife, and that would be my only criticism, although i recognise that sometimes a smaller blade id handy, i have large hands. Overall this set represents great value and quality that you would expect from Gerber.
