Nowhere in the packaging did it mention that it was limited by wiring distance. What I wanted was to run LAN out to the metal shed, about 10m away from the house and 15m from the WiFi router in a straight line..However by the time the signal went to the mains meter box and then out to the shed the signal was causing the Red LED to flash, indicating extremely low bandwidth and I couldn't get it to work. When tested inside the house on the same circuit it was fine, however so did the WiFi at this range.

It doesn't work well if you plug it with a power extensions but if it's power output to output it works well. I use it to extend my WIFI signal upstair which was a problem that a normal WIFI extender could not solved.
