I don't condone fighting in hockey but I am a lifelong fan of the sport and appreciate that fighting and enforcers on ice are part and parcel of hockey. If movies like Slap Shot, Les Boys appeal to you, GOON is likely to satisfy you. If not, don't buy it. The movie is about a professional hockey tough guy and what he goes through in his life and for the team. Other than that there is not much of a story. Certainly not Academy Award stuff. Old time hockey guys will appreciate it fully though. I enjoyed it for what it is.
