This umbrella was very difficult to get it to open up. But once we finally worked it out, i now love it. It is great value and looks awesome. The top part of the umbrella needed to be loosened, just shake it around a lot to bring it right up to the top, then you can push the umbrella up underneath to open it.

Purchased this was so disappointed as we could not open it and I was too worried forcing it as I thought it would break. The rope ties were undone when opened. Really disappointed as I love the look of this parasol. Was exactly the look I wanted. Upon reading reviews AFTER purchased everyone seemed to have difficulty opening it. Suggest seller test them all first and loosen to open for purchaser.
