I bought this scanner so I could digitize all of my Mum & Dad’s slides from the late 50’s to mid 70’s and it works a treat! Very easy to use, the scans come out great! It sounded great and so easy to use, but the photo was misleading, showing a large photo, which wasn't the slide enlarged, as I thought it was. Colours are Very hard to get correct, for the money I was expecting a lot more from this. I think the idea is great, and much needed, but surely they could have done better. Very dissapointed.

The manufacturer and vendors of the QPIX PS970H should be ashamed to have this piece of .... equipment on the market. It is totally useless at copying slides - much too dark and very very blurred copies despite many many hours of effort to get reasonable results. A total waste of money! JPEG Copies of photo prints were reasonable, but certainly not of good resolution or colour rendition.

It was used to scan old black and white photos over 50 years old so I cannot tell how well it performs with colour photos. Setting up was a snap and scans were of very good quality. Upon delivery one of the photo holders was missing hence the 4 star rating (not 5) but the supplier came through with the missing part.

I was very happy with the product and was able to restore some old memories in the way of slides, negatives and old photos which can now be viewed any time on my computer and can even be incorporated in family movies via the PC. This machine does more than I expected it to and I am happy to recommend this unit to anyone thinking of doing the same. The only complaint I have is the slide holder does not grip the slides very well, they move in the holder due to the slide frames having a small radius on the edges, cardboard frames might be ok but plastic ones like mine ride over the lugs in the holder. Other than that the scanner is a good unit.

I have used this machine to copy photos and convert slides. I have not tried negatives yet. The slide loader is flimsy, so if it breaks I don't know where to get another slide loader, (spare part) but I have used it for approximately 800 slides so far. Makes high resolution JPEG files. I have put these in large online photo books and has plenty of resolution to enlarge picture to a whole page. Thoroughly recommended.
