This device generally delivers what it promises, but it comes with the worst manual I have used in a long time. The manual contains a number of long, meandering instructions on how to do the basics through to the more complex. The Index is almost useless. Rather than having a description of a task you need to enable a feature, in a 1 2 3 type step approach, you have to wade through so many words to get it done. Most people don't read the manual, I know, I know. But for those who do, at least make it an acceptable experience. I have used the USB port to listen to music via the Receiver's connection into my home theatre system. That works really well. I also used the Spotify option - after having to subscribe to Spotify Premium - and have now cancelled my subscription as I was getting distortion through the right speakers channel. It's not the speaker because I swapped left and right leads from the unit and the problem went to the left speaker. I tried a higher quality level via the Spotify settings which reduced the distortion, but did not eliminate it. I'm guessing there's eithe something wrong with the Spotify encoding/compression, or my unit has a problem with Spotify output to the light channel. More likely to be Spotify-induced, as it doesn't;t happen through DAB radio or the USB music. The display is small, and once you master the fact that the big dial scrolls you through menu options and pressing the dial selects the option, it's all good. Having back and forward buttons on the panel, and on the remote seems a bit redundant when those options could have been encoded into the menu options on the display, but I guess that's a personal preference. Overall I am happy with the unit, and given that they are going for mid AUD500 range in the stores, with cash price generally around AUD450, and I picked it up for AUD388 on EBAY I'm pretty satisfied.Read full review

This is a great unit, I had been searching for a DAB+ tuner for ages but also wanted it to do other stuff, network, etc. I still can't believe you can't buy a receiver with DAB+. The beauty of this unit is that it outputs to digital data stream, via optical or coax so your amp can do the decoding, we spend a great deal more for amps so I prefer this option. It plays from DLNA, USB and the internet together with podcasts so very versatile. The little screen shows thecalbum art, or whatever the radio station transmits, which is nice. Except one, I'd love if the display was output on hdmi for both sound and visual, so I could set up using the TV attached to the amp via hemi, and also display that station logo or what's playing etc, on a big screen, just a little improve.

Was a bit apprehensive about buying this brand but am VERY pleased with the tuner. I'm sooo glad it has internet radio as that is what I mainly use now. Being able to tune into stations from all around the world is fantastic. Sound quality is great & it's a very intuitive menu once you realise that the knob progresses you through all the options including "OK" & you press it to select.

This review is for the WFT-1D+, the WFT-3 is still a current model available at HiFi stores, along with the WFT-4, If in a non capital city area, please hook up to an external DAB/FM antenna, for access to the full range of this radio's capabilities (with signal strength available of course), as well as the internet part of it (over 10,000 stations worldwide), you can stream from a computer music library also. These are great machines, when hooked up properly into your current HiFi set up, mine stays on most of the day, and has re-introduced me to the world of radio, and what a pleasure to listen to, that it is. The options to your listening experience are basically endless. As stated, I have been talking about the first model, not much has really changed in the format of the newer models, and my original version is still working perfectly.Read full review

I am very happy with the DAB reception and sound quality. I haven't been able to get good FM reception, but I couldn't get good reception with my Onkyo TX-NR686 either. I haven't used the Internet Radio because I wasn't able to find the station I wanted. I am going to see if I can add it to the definitions.
