Product Information

This Tamron SP AF LD Aspherical lens designed and developed by Tamron, was initially announced in September 2008. It is a follow-up model to the company's 11-18 mm f/4.5-5.6, which was released in June 2005. The Maximum format size of this Tamron lens is APS-C/DX. It has a focal length of 10-24 mm, 35 mm equivalent focal lengths of 15-36 mm (1.5x DX) and 16-38 mm (1.6x APS-C), and a diagonal angle of view of 109 degrees to 60 degrees. The maximum aperture of this Tamron SP AF LD Aspherical lens is f/3.5-4.5 while the minimum is f/22-29. Twelve elements in nine groups have gone into the construction of this Tamron lens, which includes 2 LD glass elements, one HID glass element, and four aspherical elements. The designers have made use of seven rounded diaphragm blades in its construction. The minimum focus distance required for this 10-24 mm f/3.5 - 4.5 lens for Canon is 238.76 mm (9.4 inches), and it achieves a maximum magnification of 0.20x. The AF motor type utilised in this Tamron lens is a micro motor while it has a filter thread of 77 mm. Furthermore, this lens is packaged with front and rear caps in order to make it convenient for the user to carry it. Worth paying the premium price for this lens - good value second hand.
This lens was bought second hand from bay and is one of my most used lens. It is a very high quality lens that is sharp and has very little barrel distortion considering it's extreme wide angle view at 10mm. It has good contrast and I can photograph into the sun with very pleasing results. Focus is fast and accurate. It is also a great indoors lens for group shots and I can stand in a room corner and photograph down both walls at greater than 90 degrees. Similar outside and if lens is held level buildings walls are quite straight (unlike fisheye lenses). Used creatively it's wonderful.

Amazing Wide angle lens
I would say this is the best wide angle lens you can buy. the build quality is excellent, as you would expect in this price range. the lens feels solid and premium. Lens focus is quick and quiet. Happy with the purchase. :)

The lens is really sharp even at 10 mm there us t too much distortion. Yes this model is older but it still works really well. Quality Japan glass. It’s really sharp and great in low light. Great for landscapes and sea scapes. I’m using it on a Nikon D7500 body. And it’s great.

Happy with the Tamron 10-24 f3.5 - 4.5 DI II LD
Very satisfied with this lens. It seemsa to perform better than a lot of online reviews tend to indicate. It is certainly at its sharpest at around F8-11 but it is acceptable at other apertures and is acceptable into the corners. Build quality is quite OK and the auto focus is accurate and fast enough for this type of wide angle lense. It may be that some examples are better than others but I am quite satisfied with mine.
