Cage was delivered "flat". Cage was easily erected by following the accompanied instructions.Trap mechanism is easy to set and it works really well. The only negative for me is the size of the cage is larger than I envisaged. The cage is nearly a meter long and bigger than my need. For my purpose, I should had ordered a smaller one (the 65cm long one).

This trap needs to go back to the drawing board. I ended up having to bend the trip rod to shorten it, otherwise it just would not trip the trap door. After I had done that I finally caught something. The other [front] door can be made secure if you study how it works [there are NO instructions.] The animal I caught was an ordinary, fluffy domestic cat. Not Siamese or anything like that. I found it in the trap in the morning while I was looking for things in the shed. While my back was turned the cat escaped; how: I can only speculate that it forced itself between the floor and the bottom of the trap door as the trap door takes two hands to open. But escape it did and will now probably NEVER be caught again. Even if it was caught in this cage it knows how to get back out! Suffice to say if you have caught an animal in this trap don't expect it to hang around.Read full review

After many attempts to catch Foxes and after extensive experimenting with different bait and positioning of the bait, including tying the bait to the cage, so far I have been unable to capture one Fox. I have found the bait gone and the trap still set open, I have found the bait gone and the trap sprung shut. I believe that the cage/trap is too small for the average Aussie size Fox. I think what is happening is that the trap is closing onto the back of a fox while it is in the trap therefore the Fox is able stop the rear trap door from closing and simply back itself out of the trap. the trap is functioning perfectly, I have used Beef (Steak), pork chops, chicken wings and necks without any luck This trap could possible work OK for feral cats and or Possums but definitely not FOXES

Relatively easy to assemble and set (in a couple of minutes, out of the box) even without instructions. Just visualise each segment, step by step. Assembly: Open into box shape. Rotate the outer heavy U-shaped bars into the side clips, to stabilise the box shape. Hook the 'trigger arm' into the floor plate, then into the upper 'latch', ensuring that the arm is oriented (rotated) so as to move freely past the edge of the 'trap door' when in position. [place bait at rear end, as close to the end as possible]. Thread the rear door 'locking pin' through the tiny side plate, through the tiny 'collar rings' on the inner rear door and,out through the tiny plate on the far side. I found it best to orient the pin vertically, the hook end above. Ensure the hook extends out of the far side of the cage, so as to 'hook' back into the cage frame. Setting: Swing the 'trap door' up into position. Toggle the 'latch', with your finger through the cage ceiling, so that it 'hooks' under the cross bar. I found it best to have the latch hook just barely positioned under the bar, so that the end doesn't protrude past it. This makes the trigger more 'sensitive'. Application. I'm trapping stray cats. Tuna as bait had my 'Stunt Cats' in there like a shot. However, they consistently stepped over/past the trigger plate on the floor, cleaver buggers that they are. It's actually a natural instinct for them - Just observe a cat walking about. I placed a small towel over the entire floor of the cage, hiding the floor plate and, making the whole floor more comfortable to walk across. I hung a blanket over the roof and sides of the cage, leaving each end uncovered. Cats love tunnels. I caught a stray cat within two hours. So, a little bit of thought about the mechanics of the whole process will get you through. I can see this doing the rounds, very shortly, between friends and family. A very good investment.Read full review

The trap works well, was after a fox actually but caught three different cats on three different nights, yes it works fine maybe it needs a little strengthening around the door when shut, last cat fought its way through before I could release it? still using it,my chooks were slaughtered last night! not the fault of the trap,

Sturdy construction. Only change i would make is make stand plate wider so animal has to stand on it to get to the bait as it is have had them step over it and eat the food and back out again without standing on the plate So it does not get triggered i don,t get to trap the animal.

This is a generous size trap which will adequately handle any size cat or possum. Arrived folded flat and was quite easy to assemble. Actual trap mechanism needs to be finely set so minimal animal weight is required to trip the door. Once shut the door is secure. I like that the other end opens to place bait in trap. Necessary though as it is a long trap overall. Photo attached does have red paint on the handle protection plate as I have engraved own details on the plate and painted over to stop any rust. Overall a solid unit and I’m happy with it. Value for money.

I had help a good friend but the trap as he needed one . It worked out well as he caught an animal on the first night and relocated it safely. A little flimsy but still functional.

It's easy to set up. Has worked well 3 times now. It is left out in the elements and still works ok.
