Rashid Khalidi's book on the Hundred Years War on Palestine is a scholarly masterpiece. It commences with the Zionist's intentions to convert Palestine into a Zionist state at the turn of the 20th century and proceeds to describe the early claim of Jews on Palestine in 1917 supported by its then British colonisers' Balfour declaration. It follows with a detailed description of the wars between Israel and Palestine and neighboring states over the following 100 years. The book provides great detail of the influencers, first by the British and then America, in supporting Israel to expand its control over Palestine. The book calls on historical documents and statements by countless engaged leaders and politicians to support the factual basis for the book, as well as the author's personal experiences in living in Palestine and surrounding states as well as his experiences as a diplomat and negotiator. The Hundred Years War on Palestine is a detailed historical work, well researched, supported by source documents and easy to read. Read full review
