Bugsy Malone is a film about a fairly good guy who becomes romantically involved with a loose woman in the middle of a savage outbreak of gang warfare in the mean (Chicago?) streets of the Prohibition and Depression era. Oh. It's also a film in which ALL the caste are children -- including handsome Scott Baio as the hero, Bugsy, and Jody Foster as the naughty heroine, Talulah, a pretty nightclub singer and floozie. The costumes are child-sized versions of costumes in, for example, "The Great Gatsby". The gang warfare is fought out with custard pies and "Tommy guns" that shoot whipped cream. The gangsters roar around the streets in pedal-driven cars. Another thing. It's a musical, with great solos and chorus numbers -- music and lyrics by Paul Williams -- with great dance numbers, too. It also has the biggest custard pie fight since "The Great Race". And it's funny. It is one of the GREAT children's films. And it's a terrific film for adults, too. And there are happy endings all around. Incidentally, in the Credits at the end, somebody called "Michael Jackson" appears, but it is NOT the great "Michael Jackson".Read full review

Product is as expected. I had seen it a long time ago and wanted my own copy. Also bought a copy for a young relative who wished for a movie that was acted only by children/young people. Haven't had feedback from her as yet. Love the surprise of the custard pie ammunition and Love the vintage cars. Enjoyable to see some successful actors as they were in their youth.

This movie is one for the family. The children in the movie are believable as gangsters. To see the old cars and realise they are actually pedal cars is really funny, the guns that shoot cream not bullets and the old style cake fight only add to the fun. Top this off with the great costumes and a couple of songs and you have one very entertaining movie for all.

Engaging children dressed as adults, driving pedal cars in 1930s. Scott Baio and Foster where entertaining and the singing fabulous. Most entertaining indeed.
