An improvement on the previous model - operation, sound quality, charging, reception
This is the second in the DPR3x series radio. I purchased the DPR34 10 years ago and have been very happy. Operation - before you start. Your DPR35 may be 'locked' when you unbox the radio. Locking will not let you switch the DPR35 on. To 'unlock' locate the 'lock/unlock' switch on the top right of the DPR35. Flick the switch to the right. You can switch on the unit. Operation II - Assuming you have read the instructions and become accustomed to tune and store the FM and DAB stations, operation is simple. On the left you turn on/off and increase/decrease volume. On the right is a combined push-button rock up/down switch for selecting FM or DAB and for selecting the band. Sound quality: The sound from the tiny speaker is mono and acceptable sound for speech rather than music. You will need to use earplugs or headphones to appreciate the stereo sound which is awesome!!!!!! The supplied earplugs are uncomfortable for me, anyway. You can substitute them with comfortable silicon earplugs or headphones connected via a 3.5mm plug situated at the top of the radio. Note that the 3.5mm plug has three segments. DO NOT USE your mobile phone's earphone/headphone as the 3.5mm has four segments. You could purchase a 3.5mm 4 segment to 3 segment adapter. Charging the DPR35 is via a micro usb connection. It is easier to charge via the micro usb as opposed to charging via the tiny dc-barrel connection of the DPR34. The benefit of the micro usb connector is in case there is a software update for the unit. As at the 30-06-2019 there is no update required. Also there are many ways to charge the radio through its micro usb connection other than the supplied power supply. You could for example use a micro usb to usb cable connected to your PC and charge it. A final note. Unlike an AM radio which can receive signals from a long distance, FM and DAB rely on frequencies that are line of site from the transmitter. The FM and DAB signals will not go a very long distance and reception is only in cities or town that transmit FM and/or DAB. Thank you.Read full review

Good portable radio
I am pleased with this product. It is compact, portable, easy to use, and has good reception. The sound quality is as good as can be expected, given the modest size of the speaker. It is quite acceptable for music, unless you are being critical, in which case you would of course use a larger radio. The sound is excellent for the use I make of it, chiefly carrying the radio around the house when I want to listen to news and current affairs programs. I would recommend purchasing this radio.

Review of Radio. Quite Satisfied
The radio is easy to use Reception on AM & FM is good. It is frustrating when the signal drops out occasionally & there is no sound. Radio indicates No Service. Can occur in a few rooms of our house. Period is usually 5-10 seconds. I haven’t used it out doors. I wont take it to sporting events as lve been advised of a delay of up to 7 seconds. Certainly better reception than my previous hand size radio Cheers

It is a newer model than the other so it be better. The reception inside is not as good as the older one. We were happy how they replaced the original one as the plug for charging did not work. We have had a good experience with these people.
